Rie Delange & Jordan Wood The Vessel and the Path Assembly Point 152 Sturt Street, Southbank 6th March – 1st April 2023 Drawing from the physical and psychological spaces of home interiors and neighbourhood places The Vessel and the Path is an ongoing project that investigates intersecting encounters between the artists bodies and their surroundings. The exhibition articulates a psychogeographic inquiry into junctions and schisms between architectural features, memories and bodily experiences. The Vessel and the Path develops as a collaborative conversation between Rie Delange and Jordan Wood expanding their shared processual and research ideas. Work in progress for my upcoming PhD examination exhibition at Artery Project Space in February 202211/26/2021       Studio wall arrangements for my ongoing project Alpha Beta Whatever. The projects looks at shifting states of meaning in symbols, objects and materials contingent on their arrangement and proximity to one another.        Very excited that my work Shut Up Mountain/Topology was lucky selected for the Darebin Art Prize this year held at the historical Bundoora Homestead Gallery. I was super lucky to be part of Awkwarder at The Wondering Room, currently located in Brunswick, in June 2019. Here are some pics and info. AWKWARDER Awkwarder is a follow up to a show, Awkward curated by The Wandering Room in 2010 which took place at (funnily enough), Melbourne Street, South Brisbane. The show comprised of sculptural and performative works, all of which could be described as ‘awkward’. Like its predecessor, all of the works in Awkwarder, border on the quirky, obsessive and odd. With this iteration of the ‘awkward’ premise - a concept everyone can relate to in one way or another - we bring together artworks which even more comprehensively embody the term, ‘awkward’. This exhibition features the artists: Sue Beyer, Benjamin Crowley, Nicholas Curnow, Rebecca Delange, Marcela Gómez-Escudero, Henry Mills and Half Asian (featuring special guest Ilbfluence). Thanks to the team at PRENTA X : ) Opening launch on Thursday 04 April 2019 6-8pm Missing Persons Level 4 Nicholas Building 37 Swanston St, Melbourne  REBECCA DELANGE for PRENTA X Rebecca Delange utilises sculpture and photography to investigate and problematise the mutability and entanglement of form, material and meaning. Loops is part of an ongoing project Knot Not —that employs the motif of the blind spot and the form of the net and associated and intersecting objects, meanings and metaphors— as an investigatory locus. The project continues Delange’s exploration into double meanings, text as object, object as language, the entanglement of meaning and material and linguistic slippage. Delange seeks to articulate an object/material language that looks at disrupting traditional categories of meaning though strategies of collage, assemblage and spatial arrangement applied to sourced and repurposed materials and objects—and how this can potentially action a type of semiotic and phenomenological slippage evoking unseen narratives and new knowledge for the viewer in the material outcomes of the work. Her practice looks at the poetic—things known and felt yet evading direct visual perception and representation, unseen and unspoken experiences—and how can these things can be made manifest in the material. Rebecca Delange is a PHD candidate at RMIT University in the School of Art. In 2015 she completed Master of Contemporary Art with first class Honours at the Victorian College of the Arts. Recent exhibitions include Knot Not at Bus Projects and Alpha Beta Whatever at Notfair. Last year she lived and worked in Germany and Italy for 5 months undertaking field research for an upcoming project, Shut Up Mountain, at C3 Contemporary Art Space in 2019 Rebecca Delange, 2019  Rebecca Delange ' Loops', 2019 Edition of 36: 64 x 64cm Edition of 4: 130 x 130cm  PRENTA X Prenta X was established to bring the work of contemporary artists into our daily wearable life and to extend the presence of artwork to occupy space alongside and outside traditional gallery spaces. We commission prominent Australian and international artists and designers to create original artworks exclusive to Prenta X for print onto high quality limited edition silk scarves. Scarf editions are limited to no more than 40 pieces, ethically printed in the Netherlands and finished by hand with our signature fringed/pinked edging in our studio in Melbourne Australia. Each scarf arrives with custom packaging, containing a numbered edition insert sheet with details about the artwork and artists practice. Our ethos is to promote and support artists in every capacity possible within this label, from artwork commissions, product styling, photography, design and in the facilitating of design collaborations.
